MultiCultural Media Expo Announces 2007 Award Winners

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The MultiCultural Media Expo announced the Microsoft-sponsored 2007 award winners at the Los Angeles Convention Center. With nearly 800 registrants for the conference and expo, attendees from across the United States and international attendees from Canada, Mexico, and Spain, two stellar keynote addresses by captains in their respective industries, 56 world-class speakers representing every major form of media and culture, breaking research, and an exhibition floor of leaders, the awards honor companies and individuals who deliver excellence in multicultural marketing and media.

Outstanding Conference Presentation Awards selected by audience participants included:

  • Sarah Carberry of Google for Internet
  • Ray Clemons of Carol H. Williams for Advertising Agency

  • Carl Kravetz of American Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) for Association Representative

Best Expo Display Awards were selected by a group of judges considering excellence in promoting multicultural media or related services on the show floor. The winners included:

  • Luminacion for Sports & Entertainment
  • Plural & Partners for Start-Up Company
  • RealTalk LA for Publishing
  • Tyloon.com for Internet

In presenting the awards, David Takata, President of the MultiCultural Media Expo, said, "The success of the 2007 event demonstrates the growing interest in multicultural media and marketing. However, the truly exciting news is that with so many exciting companies now actively engaged in multicultural media and marketing, the depth and breadth of talent is clearly visible across a growing list of award winning companies and individuals."

Attendees gained insight from experts, such as Reginald Denson, who is a two-time winner of the MultiCultural Media Expo Radio Award. In another first for the expo, Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) had a second conference presentation winner with Ray Clemons winning over session attendee votes for his advertising agency perspective on radio. On the exhibit floor, InterTrend swept the Best of Show award with an in-house designed booth of creative forms and media projected on a panel. RealTalk LA made show history as a two-time award winner with its newly designed booth for the 2007 show. Finally, this was the first year a major advertiser has displayed its multicultural expertise and UnitedHealthcare took center stage with its Ethnic Initiatives team.
