STATE FARM ADVERTISING RECOGNIZED BY INDUSTRY ORGANIZATIONS

State Farm was recently recognized by industry organizations IFCA (Insurance and Financial Communication Association) and IMCA (Insurance Marketing Communications Association) for our national advertising work.

The IFCA awarded Best of Show Print to Life print ad "Fish", Honorable Mention Print to Annuities print ad "Just How Far" and Honorable mention TV to Asian Financial Services commercial "Father and Son."

The IMCA awarded Best of Show Print to Life print ads "Fish" and "Makeup", Award of Excellence for consumer print to IRA print ad "Your Retirement Starts Today", Award of Excellence for in-house print advertising to "Congrats, Pat!", and Award of Excellence for development under $1,000 to print ad "Who'll Win the Big Dance?"

"Fish" and "Makeup" were both part of the life print campaign in which the life oval is pulled out of the State Farm logo. "Fish" shows a boy and his mother looking at a floating fish in the boy's aquarium. "Makeup" shows girls of varying ages sharing a bathroom mirror to put on makeup. Both ads convey the idea life goes by faster than you think and not always as planned so it's best to be prepared with life insurance from State Farm.

The annuity ad "Just How Far" shows a man and woman star gazing on top of an RV and conveys the idea a State Farm annuity can take your retirement income pretty far. "Your Retirement Starts Today" was part of the 2005 integrated IRA campaign and shows a man walking into his agent's office ready to invest in his retirement with a State Farm IRA.

These ads were produced by longtime State Farm advertising agency DDB Chicago.

"Father and Son," a financial services television spot for the Chinese market, demonstrates the need for retirement-related products through the symbolic gesture of a son playfully attempting to lift his father. This spot was created by InterTrend Communications, State Farm's Asian advertising agency

"Congrats, Pat!" congratulates Tennessee Lady Vols coach Pat Summitt for breaking the NCAA record for number of wins by a coach. "Who'll Win the Big Dance" is a print version of the popular "Brackets" television commercial. Both of these ads were produced entirely at State Farm.

Entries are judged based on their content, design/presentation and on their effectiveness at achieving objectives and reaching target audiences.
