Woody

A little info on a compact magazine about sneakers that packs a punch! Since its inception in 2002, Sneaker Freaker Magazine has created a legacy as the first and only international sneaker magazine and a growing reputation as a global icon of street style. From the polluted factories of China to the super trendy boutiques of New York and shopping madness of downtown Harajuku, the Sneaker Freaker team travel regularly to seek out the freshest news and sneaker gossip. Accordingly, the Magazine is sold into the best shops in more than 26 countries and the exclusive content is drawn from a global collective of creative and talented writers and artists.
The magazine's underground status has already seen it become a cult item! All old issues are impossible to find and the very early ones have been selling on eBay for crazy prices! In late 2005 Snkr Frkr The Book was released world wide and became a best seller.

BACKGROUND
Woody's obsessive pop-compulsive disorder means that his interests are far flung indeed. An expert in 80's metal, aussie muscle cars, WWF wrestling figurines and general suburban mayhem, Woody is an iconoclast for all seasons. He started a t-shirt label (and is credited with starting an art movement) about bogans called Wankuss. At one time he owned a Monaro, a Camaro and a Torana. And they were all parked on the nature strip. He currently owns over 300 pairs of sneakers but is kinda embarrassed to admit it.
PROFESSIONAL
Woody's design history includes long stints in London advertising agencies and two years at Factory X as the Advertising and Design Manager, during which time the company was famed for its seriously nutty print campaigns. For the past 6 years he has worked freelance for a wide range of clients, including Nike, adidas, Puma, Chunky Move, Sony Music and Run Athletics. He also has motion picture credits as a designer on several major American films made in Australia.
He is also a published writer with stories in Desktop, Australian Style, Monster Children, Remix and Streetwear International amongst others. And he would like it known that he has never claimed to be "seriously into graffiti "
SNEAKER FREAKER
Woody started Sneaker Freaker magazine in 2002 to much acclaim from sneakerholics the world over. Originally started just for fun, the mag has exposed what many may have pondered but few had the guts to prove. Sneakers are a way of life, and a key cog in our fashionable inner city existence. And there is a completely unfathomable culture built around collecting them.
The mag is now distributed in over 25 countries and is generally regarded as being fucking awesome.
If you want further proof, check out www.sneakerfreaker.com The site now gets up to 20,000 unique users a day.
